1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how SERVING Holdings LLC, doing business through BoxOwl (“BoxOwl,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use the BoxOwl website, applications, and related services.

BoxOwl is built around information you choose to save about your belongings and where you keep them. We treat that information as private account data and use it to provide the BoxOwl experience.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

• Account information: such as your name, email address, login information, and profile information.
• Inventory information: locations, rooms or spaces, boxes and containers, item names, descriptions, categories, quantities, notes, identifiers, and related organizational records.
• Photos and files: images or other content you choose to attach to your inventory or provide to BoxOwl.
• Voice and AI input: spoken or typed requests, transcripts, corrections, and other content you intentionally submit to voice or AI features.
• Support and communications: messages you send to BoxOwl, including contact forms, support requests, and legal/privacy inquiries.
• Purchase information: plan, subscription, transaction, and entitlement information. Payment-card details may be handled directly by payment processors or app marketplaces rather than stored by BoxOwl.

Information collected automatically

When you use BoxOwl, we or our service providers may collect technical information such as IP address, browser or device type, operating system, app version, timestamps, diagnostic information, security events, feature interactions, and similar usage data needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service.

Information from connected services

If you choose to sign in with or connect a third-party service, we may receive information that service is authorized to provide, such as an account identifier, name, email address, authentication token, or information necessary to perform the integration you requested.

3. How We Use Information

We use personal information to provide and maintain BoxOwl; authenticate accounts; save, search, organize, restore, export, and display inventory information; process purchases and entitlements; provide customer support; operate voice, AI, QR, and other requested features; detect fraud and security threats; troubleshoot and improve performance; communicate service or policy updates; comply with legal obligations; and enforce our Terms.

We may use aggregated or de-identified information for analytics, product development, and business planning where that information cannot reasonably be linked back to you.

4. Voice, AI, and Assistant Processing

When you choose to use a voice or AI feature, BoxOwl may process your spoken or typed request, a transcript of that request, and the inventory context needed to answer or perform the requested action. Depending on the feature, this information may be processed by service providers that supply speech recognition, artificial intelligence, cloud, or assistant-integration technology.

We aim to send only the information reasonably necessary to provide the feature. Do not include sensitive information in voice prompts, item notes, photos, or other fields unless you are comfortable storing and processing that information through BoxOwl.

Future integrations with Alexa, Gemini, Siri, or other assistants may also involve those providers’ privacy practices. We will update this policy as integrations are launched and their data flows are finalized.

5. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose personal information to categories of recipients that help us operate BoxOwl, including:

• cloud hosting, database, storage, security, and infrastructure providers;
• authentication and account-login providers;
• AI, speech, and voice technology providers when you use those features;
• payment processors and app marketplaces;
• analytics, diagnostics, email, and customer-support providers;
• professional advisers such as attorneys, accountants, and insurers where appropriate;
• government authorities or other parties when required by law, necessary to protect rights and safety, or needed to investigate fraud or abuse; and
• a successor or acquiring entity in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to applicable law.

Service providers are permitted to process information for the services they provide to us and are expected to protect it appropriately.

6. Sale, Sharing, and Targeted Advertising

BoxOwl does not currently sell personal information for money, and we do not currently use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We also do not currently “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as that term is defined by California privacy law.

If these practices change, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any opt-out mechanisms required by applicable law before using personal information in that manner.

7. Data Retention and Account Deletion

We retain account and inventory information for as long as your account is active or as reasonably necessary to provide the Service. Different information may be retained for different periods based on its purpose, legal requirements, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, security, backup cycles, and legitimate business needs.

When you delete information or request account deletion, some information may remain temporarily in backups or logs and some records may be retained where required or permitted by law. We will delete or de-identify information when it is no longer reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was retained.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. These safeguards may include encrypted connections, access controls, authentication protections, database security rules, monitoring, and other measures appropriate to the nature of the Service.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your password, devices, and account access and for notifying us if you suspect unauthorized use.

9. Your Choices and Controls

Depending on the features available in your account, you may be able to access, update, export, remove, or delete information directly through BoxOwl. You may also contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or other privacy assistance.

You can choose whether to use optional features such as photos, voice input, AI features, QR tools, or third-party integrations. Device and browser settings may also allow you to control microphone, camera, notification, cookie, or other permissions.

To submit a privacy request, email legal@boxowl.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.

10. California Privacy Rights

California residents may have privacy rights under laws including the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CCPA”), if and when those laws apply to BoxOwl. Depending on applicability and exceptions, these rights may include the right to know or access categories and specific pieces of personal information, request deletion, request correction, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, and receive equal service and pricing without unlawful discrimination for exercising privacy rights.

BoxOwl does not currently sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that changes, we will provide the required privacy choices.

California residents may submit applicable requests at legal@boxowl.com. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law, and we may take reasonable steps to verify the consumer, the agent’s authority, or both.

11. Cookies, Online Tracking, and Do Not Track

Our website may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies that are necessary for login, preferences, security, performance, and basic analytics. Third-party services integrated into the site or app may also use technologies governed by their own privacy policies.

Because there is not a single universally accepted standard for browser “Do Not Track” signals, our services may not respond to traditional DNT signals. Where legally required, we will honor recognized browser-based opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, for processing to which those signals apply.

We do not currently permit third parties to collect personal information through BoxOwl for cross-context behavioral advertising.

12. Children’s Privacy

BoxOwl is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without legally required parental consent. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to BoxOwl, contact us at legal@boxowl.com.

Where additional protections apply to minors, we will comply with applicable law.

13. International Users

BoxOwl is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from another country, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Privacy laws in those locations may differ from the laws where you live.

As BoxOwl expands internationally, we may provide supplemental notices or rights required by particular jurisdictions.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as BoxOwl evolves, our service providers or features change, or legal requirements develop. We will post the revised policy and update the “Last updated” date. If changes materially affect how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice when required.

We intend to review this policy periodically and at least as often as required by applicable law.
